Dubai, 20 November 2006, Etisalat today confirmed its commitment to broadcast mobile TV at this year’s GULFCOMMS 2006 and GITEX 2006. During the five-day exhibition, Etisalat is presenting live demonstrations of pay-TV channels on Nokia N92 multimedia mobiles and other Digital Video Broadcast-Handheld (DVB-H) enabled devices and mobile phones. Television content is broadcast across the DVB-H frequency, which is presently being provided using Nokia’s DVB-H broadcasting solutions. The service is presently being finalized by Etisalat in coordination with the TRA.

Dubai, 16 November 2006, UAEnic infrastructure and progress praised by ICANN delegation Officials from UAEnic(United Arab Emirates Network Information Centre) which is the local Internet registry and (.ae) ccTLD (country code Top Level Domain) Administrator, sponsored by Etisalat met up with top officials from ICANN (Internet Corporation For Assigned Names and Numbers) yesterday. The meeting was held to exchange views on the progress made by UAEnic and to discuss mutual areas of cooperation to benefit the Internet community across the UAE and the Region. Abdulla Hashim, UAEnic manager and John Crain, Chief Technical Officer of ICANN were among the top officials who attended this meeting.
