What kind of mobile data does etisalat offer its Prepaid users?

Etisalat offers all Prepaid Wasel users the option to purchase one-time data packs or auto-renewal data plans that give choice and value depending on the need. Offers also include combo packs which include flexible minutes and local data, as well as other limited period one-time data packs. For a complete list of packages, click here.

What are one-time data packs?

One-time data packs place convenience before commitment, where you can subscribe to the same pack multiple times, or mix and match different ones, depending on your need. This way, you never run out of data with the flexible short and long validity options.

What are auto-renewal data Plans?

Auto-renewal data plans offer you peace of mind. No more hassle of re-subscribing to data every day or month as these plans are automatically renewed at the end of assigned validity. Choose the plan you want and just ensure you have the right balance when it's time to renew and the plan will do the rest.

Etisalat understands your need for more data and is continually upgrading allowances on all auto-renewal monthly data packages. Now with Data Bonanza, you will get up to 100% extra ‘Social Plus’ data on your Data Plus pack. The extra ‘Social Plus ’allowance will cover usage on Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat, WeChat, Instagram, HiU Messenger*, BOTIM* and C’Me.*

*Social allowances may be used for messaging. For video and audio calling, you need to subscribe to Internet Calling Plan (ICP).

How can I activate the data packs and plans?

  • Via My Etisalat UAE app
  • Logging on to
  • Texting the relevant code to 1010 (Note: AED 0.30/SMS, 5% VAT excluded)
  • Dialling *170# and following the instructions
  • Calling 101

Do I have to activate the one-time data packs every time they expire?

Yes, you would have to repurchase them again.

What happens in case of the auto-renewal data plans?

The auto-renewal plans do not need to be subscribed again and are renewed automatically at the end of the assigned validity.

Can I deactivate these packs and plans?

There is no need to deactivate the one-time packs since you have already paid for the data allowance. Once validity expires the pack will be automatically removed from your prepaid line. For the auto-renewal plans, you can deactivate them by dialling *170#.

Can I purchase multiple data packs or plans of the same category at the same time?

Yes, each pack will have its own allowance and validity period. Multiple subscriptions to auto-renewal plans will reset the renewal date, while both allowances will be available for usage.

What happens if I don't use all my data allowance within the validity period?

Any remaining MBs will automatically expire and won't be carried over.

How can I monitor my remaining balance?

You will also be notified via SMS in the following cases:

  • Upon consumption of 80%, 90% and 100% of the data packs
  • Upon consumption of AED 10, AED 30, AED 50, AED 100 and multiples of AED 100 as out-of-bundle charges

Can I use the data packs and plans on my BlackBerry?

You can enjoy the the data packs and plans only if your device is running on BB10 operating system or newer.

What happens if I don't have enough balance in my account?

  • First time subscription: You will have to recharge your wasel prepaid account within 7 days, and the package will be activated automatically.
  • Auto-Renewal: You will have a grace period of 10 days to recharge your account in order to continue enjoying the plan, after which the plan will be removed from your account. Once removed and you have enough balance, you will have to activate the plan again.

How many data units will I get for my package allowance?

Etisalat follows a uniform data allowance configuration across its packages, and your data units will be based on the below conversion:
1GB = 1000MB; 1MB = 1000KB; 1KB = 1024Bytes

I am a postpaid user. Am I eligible to subscribe to these data packs and plans?

No, prepaid data eligibility is limited to prepaid users (Wasel, SWYP and FIVE SIM card holders).

I subscribed to a one-time data pack but later realised that I do not have enough balance. Should I subscribe again?

If you do not have enough balance, the unfulfilled request will be “parked” for 7 days. Once you avail within the 7 days, the subscription shall take place. Only one “parked” subscription is allowed at a time. Therefore, in case of multiple failed attempts, only the latest one is kept.

What happens if the plan renewal on pre-order fails during the 7-day “parked” period due to insufficient balance?

The plan will be deactivated and you will receive a notification.

I mistakenly cancelled my pack/plan. Would I lose all my benefits?

Upon cancellation, benefits will remain available until data is completely used or the validity expires. However, Social Data benefits will be removed immediately along with any unused allowance upon cancellation.

Can I have multiple subscriptions of the same pack?

You can subscribe multiple times to the same pack or different ones for one-time packs and Social Plus bundles only.

Can I have multiple subscriptions of the auto-renewal plans?

No. Two auto-renewal plans cannot coexist; subscribing to one will cancel the other

Will my balance allowances be carried over to the next month?

There is no carryover of unused benefits and it renews every first of the month.

Can I use my packs/plans devices with Tawaam/clone SIMs?

Yes, it will work as normal.

Does the social data support Internet Calling Plan (ICP)?

ICP is available for Social Data users through one of the following options:

  • Use of the messaging feature only of HiU Messenger, BOTIM and C’Me, without subscribing to ICP
  • Enabling of video/audio calling features once subscribed to ICP
