ExpressRoute is an extension of your on-premises networks or data centres into the Microsoft Cloud like Microsoft Azure and Office 365 among others, over a private connection provided by Etisalat. The private connectivity is facilitated by Etisalat through an MPLS network, an Ethernet network or a virtual cross-connection. By using a private connectivity medium and detouring from the public Internet, Etisalat ensures more reliability, consistent latencies and secure connection for ExpressRoute services.
